A hospital in Utah is seeking a General Surgery Physician to provide quality patient care for a Locum Tenens assignment.
Assignment:
Dates: Immediate credentialed - Ongoing until a full-time provider is hired (opportunity to go locum tenens to perm)
Schedule: -Monday-Thursday, full-time, ongoing (the client is ok piecing together multiple schedules as needed).
- Clinic hours: PV to fill in
- Hospital has 2 or suites and 1 endoscopy suite. 15 med-surgery beds that the general surgeon would be rounding on patients in
Setting: Mix of Inpatient and Outpatient
Call: 24-hr call
Volume: PV note: Client will provide
Patient Ages: Mix but mostly adults
Procedures: Hernia repair, Gallbladder, Appendix, Bowel procedures, Colonoscopies/EGD, Pediatric surgery, Vasectomy, Tubal ligation, Skin Cancer Removal, Breast Procedures, including mastectomies and lumpectomies
Cases: Bread and butter general surgery
This is a level IV trauma center / critical access hospital (trauma patients are taken to Grand Junction, CO)
Ped surgery: Very low volume - essentially an appendix here and there
Scope census: Client will provide
Support Staff: Nurses, 2 CRNAs, Anesthesiologist, ER doc in 24/7, hospitalists
EMR/Charting: Right now EMR Healthland Centric, converting to Meditech at the end of 2022
Requirements:
Boards: Board Certified; Board Eligible within 5 years
Certifications: DEA
