Job Description
The Credit and Collections Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to the Accounts Receivable and Credit Teams in Beachwood, OH and Greenville, SC. The position will report into the Shared Services Leader. The Credit Manager is responsible for adhering to all Credit & Collection Standards, in addition to the investigation of customer financial credit risk, assessing credit history, and extension of credit lines.
This role will be required in office 3-4 days/week in Greenville, SC.
Finance and Accounting Leadership:
- Manage Accounts Receivable teams in Beachwood, OH and Greenville, SC in the areas of cash, collections, credit, and risk.
- Design and implement various processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables.
- Responsible for collection of past due customer invoices, preparation of collection letters, final demand letters and execution of service suspensions on past due accounts.
- Maintain quality control/satisfaction records, constantly seeking new ways to improve customer service and the AR Credit & Collections process and reduce collection cycle times (DSO).
- Interpret customer financial information and credit reports to determine credit worthiness, periodically reviewing and adjusting customer credit limits as needed.
- Manage account reconciliation with team by supporting the resolution of unapplied payments, short paid invoices, and disputes.
- Prepare A/R reporting and communicate collections issues to senior management.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team; demonstrated ability to partner with other departments to enable growth while managing overall receivables exposure.
- Strong process capabilities: ability to apply innovative approaches toward minimizing bad debt exposure and achieve reduction in DSO.
- Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of collections, credit, accounting, and financial principles.
Team Leadership
- Leverage strength of current finance team member, assisting in clarifying roles and responsibilities.
- Develop and implement training programs, and work with team members.
- Communicate policies, procedures and concerns across the organization as needed.
Qualifications
The desired candidate will be well versed in Accounts Receivable and Accounting Principles. The Credit and Collections Manager will have a solid foundation to research technical matters and arrive at GAAP compliant recommendations and implement as needed. The candidate will have integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment. A proactive, hands-on manager who will partner with the Assistant Controller, Global Controller and Shared Services Leader to improve the Accounting and Shared Services operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- SAP experience required
- 8 years professional experience in accounting and/or finance
- Shared Services management preferred
- Management experience required
- GAAP and IFRS knowledge required
- Industry and public accounting experience preferred
Compensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $110,000-$135,000.
