Job Description
Provide direction, and as point of contact for other maintenance workers
Work highly, independently, and with little to no supervision
Communicate with contractors, material supply sources, inspection agencies and management within the company as needed
Identify areas for continuous improvement with extreme attention to detail, and provide suggestions to supervisor on correction methods
Have in-depth knowledge of production processes and the maintenance tasks associated with them, such as plumbing, welding, electrical, carpentry, and hydraulics and fully comprehending reading prints and manuals.
Assist the maintenance supervisor in ensuring that all necessary tasks are performed in order to maintain the facility to meet all company standards and requirements
Ensure that clean up requests or minor repair requests are responded to in a timely fashion
Ensure that general cleaning and custodial duties including sweeping the floors, disposing of rubbish properly, removing/recycling cardboard in compactor, wiping down railings, clearing debris, and washing windows are completed as needed
Ensure that general building and grounds upkeep including lawn mowing, weed whacking, tree trimming, and snow removal is completed as needed
Perform preventative maintenance as directed by maintenance supervisor including but not limited to adding oil, greasing and changing filters, repairing wiring, checking nuts and bolts, Osha required maintenance, etc.
Trouble shoot, repair, and adjust equipment in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and oral information
Ensure that maintenance tasks are completed to the exact requirements specified by the maintenance supervisor
Complete monthly inspection reports
Requisition material as required and as directed by maintenance supervisor
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
Ability to lift 30-40 lbs. and maneuver 50 lbs.
Comfortable standing, walking, crouch intermittently, climb ladders, and work at heights
Ability to be available for overtime and on-call work as maintenance duties may require
Must have the ability to fully understand directives/instruction and effectively communicate matters concerning safety, quality and productivity
Ability to work well with other maintenance staff, and understand and follow directions
Forklift license required
Independently perform all routine maintenance tasks for production equipment
Ability to proficiently perform maintenance duties such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, machine repairs, hydraulics, and welding
Independently comprehend prints and manuals
Skilled in implementing safety modifications to tools, machinery, etc.
General knowledge of tree trimming and other outside maintenance
