SUMMARY
This position will support the effective implementation of the district’s social and emotional learning vision. This position will help develop, adapt and execute SEL initiatives within schools and support district and school staff in promoting students’ social and emotional development through curriculum and assessment, and support of district instructional goals as related to the Social Emotional Learning and Development Department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, a Core Content Area or a related field
Arizona Teaching Certificate
Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
Seven (7) years of teaching experience
Three (3) years experience working with at risk populations
Three (2) years experience providing professional development
Knowledge of current research and best practices in SEL and school climate
Availability to work flex hours as needed, to include evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years of teaching or counseling experience with Tucson Unified School District
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge and or experience training in cognitive coaching or other similar coaching framworks or methodologies.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including coaching skills, writing competency, professional development presentation skills, well versed in the use and integration of technology, and flexibility.
Works successfully with diverse populations
Demonstrates successful collaboration

Work Calendar: 10.5 month
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
