Job Description:
Under the supervision of the VPIA, the Annual Fund officer manages an assigned pool of prospective donors and volunteers through the fundraising continuum from discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, focusing on prospects capable of making annual gifts of $1,000-$9,999 to The Curry Fund. This position will have 12 meetings month to solicit support and promote engagement. Visits will be conducted both in person and via Zoom. Regular travel will be required in New England.
The Annual Fund officer also directs and oversees annual fund written appeals strategy and content with the goal of maintaining high levels of support and engagement. With oversight and guidance from Vice President of Institutional Advancement, this position develops and leads the yearly annual fund appeal cycle.
Essential Functions:
1. Portfolio Management:
- Directly qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of leadership annual giving prospects with the capacity to make annual gifts of $1,000-$9,999;

Engage in leadership annual gift solicitations that 1) retains current and re-engages lost donors, 2) grows giving levels of current donors and 3) ultimately increases unrestricted giving;

Conduct a minimum of 144 personal visits per year in person and via Zoom with leadership annual giving prospects for 1:1 solicitation. Local and regional travel are regular; and evening and weekend hours are occasional;

Work independently and be self-motivated in initiating contacts with donors and potential donors; maintain relationships in person and electronically;

As needed, work within VP of Development to implement strategies for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
2. Annual Fund Development:
- Design, implement and manage a comprehensive and proactive annual giving program focused on retaining and expanding the donor base and increasing individual annual support. The program will include a comprehensive mail, email, and social media campaign, working with external vendors and internal Marketing and Communication partners. Oversee data segmentation and messaging to retain, upgrade, and recruit donors.
3. Other:
- Be an active and collaborative team member;

Contribute to overall Curry Fund discussions affecting annual giving priorities and strategies;

Participate in special projects or activities as assigned including, but not limited to, attendance at college functions and volunteer and/or donor events.
Additional Functions:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or his/her designee;

Maintains a working knowledge of the Banner and other applicable databases.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in fundraising, volunteer management or other constituent management roles.

Candidate must possess excellent organizational skills, ability to balance multiple projects and tasks, analytical and technical aptitude and attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.

Database experience, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel); and ability to analyze data and learn new software.

Willingness to travel domestically within New England with some evenings and weekends required throughout the year. Valid driver's license required.

Desire to be part of a strong team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cultivation and solicitation of donor prospects a plus.
