We are currently looking for an Associate System Engineer (“ASE”) to join our team! The ASE will be assigned an integral role for a large-scale, logistically complex program for a large K-12 client.
The selected ASE will be responsible for a variety of responsibilities, including site surveying, design, site management, equipment configuration, and/or integration team leader for the design and integration of Access Control System, and IP Video surveillance for a large K-12 client.
This individual will support a Program-Manager-Level Technical Leadership team. Primary responsibility for this ASE, as part of a larger technical team, will be to survey, design and implement 400 access control systems or video surveillance networks per year. This individual may also manage 2 to 3 technical resources in support of their assignments.
Travel throughout Long Island and the five boroughs of NYC is to be expected. 2nd shift may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Overall success of the technical services assigned to them under the program.
· Surveying and documenting existing networks
· Server and Video Surveillance software configuration
· Installation and integration of technical solutions including Cisco and Meraki switches, Cisco Firepower, and other network-interconnection devices
· Accurately understanding and documenting client environment
· Achieving and maintaining industry standard certifications aligned with the Programs core competencies as directed by supervisor
· Compliance with Program’s technical standards.
· Completing all Program defined deliverables in a timely manner
· Leadership skills
· Identify and communicate issues in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2 to 3 years’ experience in implementing Access Control or Video Surveillance systems, Networking Wireless
· Technical skills in the area of Access Control, Video Surveillance, Networking and Wireless technologies
· Ability to quickly get up to speed on contractual requirements and standards
· Experience in Quality Management
· Solid aptitude across Microsoft Office Suite - especially Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
· Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
· Upbeat personality, professional demeanor, and "gets-the-job done" mentality
· Strong “customer-serving” attitude and organizational skills
· High aptitude, superior problem solving skills and an eye for details
· Strong customer service skills
· Excellent attention to detail
· Must be willing to work 2nd shift hours (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM) at client sites through NYC when required
· Qualified candidates should possess the following technical skills:
· Certifications and experience with Genetec Software
· Certifications and experience with Genetec Security Center, Omni Cast, Snergis, or Sipella
· A thorough understanding of network infrastructure and protocols
· Knowledge of VLAN structures and configuration backup
· CCNA or equivalent a PLUS
· General knowledge of content delivery engines and proxy servers
· Desktop OS, NOS and application support experience
The position is based in Hauppauge, LI and will require daily travel into the five boroughs of New York City. Candidates must have access to an automobile they can use for work daily.
