We are looking for a Systems Engineer to work on a logistically complex technology refresh program for a large K-12 client.
This position requires heavy NYC travel within all five boroughs as well as in office time located in Hauppauge, NY
Qualifications:
Role & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for planning and execution of all technical facets of project integrations tasks from design to closeout
· Resource planning, supervision, and ownership for all project integrations
· On site/hands on field integration implementation
· Responsible for daily field staff check in/check outs including site status, punch lists and next steps
· Read and interpret construction drawings to conduct drawing reviews for projects in various design stages
o Strong understanding of DIIT Standards & SCA Specifications and Design Requirements
o Identify deficiencies and proposed resolution
o Ability to attend call with A&E Designers and AoR & EoR and explain deficiencies and answer questions and be able to backup statements
o Review RFI & Bulletin Drawings to confirm adherence
· Generate and Submit DIIT Network & IPDVS Designs plus IPDVS Parts Calculator
o Understanding of how existing environments for Building Additions are to be handled
· Generate Bill of Materials to be utilized for Network Equipment Quote Generation
o Review of Network Quote Packages before submittal to SCA for procurement
· Schedule / Prep and Conduct onsite Project Kickoff Meetings
o Meet with PO / GC / EC and review any open Bid Set DR Comments & Deficiencies requiring correction
o Review Timeline for project milestones
· Conduct MDF Closet Layout Overview w/SCA Vendors
o Measure Room for spacing and clearance issues
o Review power requirements and their install locations
o Grounding and Labeling Requirements
o Ladder Rack Layout and Height Requirements
· Compile Technology Allocations
o To be generated from Construction Drawings
o Should include IWB Panel Counts & Type (specific to project & location)
· Technology Allocation and furniture vendor drawing comparisons in conjunction w/PM
o Ability to identify deficiencies with placement / lack of furniture / power / data
· Perform Construction Site Surveys
o Identify the Crown Castle Conduits / Fiber Termination Splicing box and MRV
o Identify Fiber interconnects
o Assure MDF & IDF Closets are being built to proper requirements
o Identify and call out deficiency noted during continual progress
o Ability to review and identify classroom and office data / wireless and power requirement are being followed
o Ability to review camera locations are being installed as depicted on drawings
o Accurately fill out standard SCA survey document & effectively communicate items of concern to PM
o Assist and explain to PO and or contractor directly deficiency outlined and what is required to correct it
· Generate and submit interim and final As Built documentation
o Continue to work with PM to monitor remaining open items
o Obtain and submit documentation of corrections for re-submittal to DOE until Full Acceptance is reached
· Ability to modify CAD floor plans for final project submittal (wireless floor plans)
o Breakdown summary for communication to team on implementation into current drawing review processes and integration processes where applicable
o Write up Key Points that identify differences in current SCA Specifications & the changes that would be required
o Identify deficiencies not accounted for & bring to attention of SCA for resolution
