We have a great opportunity for an equipment Driver (CDL) in our Cinnaminson, NJ location!
Summary
Primary responsibility is to drive a heavy truck in excess capacity of more than three (3) tons; to specified destinations and locations, and to perform the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
- Drives truck or equipment to assigned location, usually within 1-4 hours of the Cinnaminson, NJ branch location.
- Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions.
- Performs routine maintenance on truck or equipment; cleans inside of truck.
- Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements, and practice them.
- When assigned, will open a work order so time may be charged out to assigning department.
- Reports accidents to appropriate managers immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details.
- Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery of vehicle or equipment.
- Performs all duties in a professional manner and in accordance with safety requirements and practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- This position requires a CDL Class B license (CDL A, a plus) and clean driving record to remain insurable.
- 3 years driving experience (equipment over the road).
- Valid Commercial Driver's License
- Knowledge of heavy and light duty trucks and equipment preferred
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be self-sufficient and driven
- Meeting deadlines and schedules
- Must have a strong attendance record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT drug test and physical
- Able to communicate information effectively
Working Conditions
- Attendance – The ability to work as scheduled with punctual attendance 7:00 am-4:30/5 pm, Monday-Friday plus any additional hours/days necessary in order to meet business demands
- Majority of work performed in a shop, outside, and on the road
- May be exposed to bright lights, varying temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes
Physical Requirements
- Employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk.
- Occasionally required to climb stairs, and enter and leave truck cab, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is regularly required to move about the vehicle.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces during the course of the work day
