Summary/Objective:
In this role, the Vice President of CES Operations is responsible for establishing and fostering a culture that supports our vision of being a benchmark provider of customized solutions for our customer, our company, and our people. With oversight of the nation’s first Air Centralized Exam Station and two Container Centralized Exam Stations, this individual sits at the center of our mission statement to become the strongest link in our customers supply chain with responsibilities ranging from establishing common business processes, maintaining and nurturing strong business relationships with CBP and the broker community, delivering exceptional service, and full P&L responsibility. This individual must be experienced in managing multiple facility locations and transportation operations. The individual will be tasked with integrating facility and transportation operations together to create synergies in processes, service, and costs. Furthermore, they will work with key cross-functional partners throughout the organization to coordinate the execution for customers. This critical position will play an essential role in developing the growth strategy for CES and must have a solid track record of building and managing successful teams.

- Must have a strong working knowledge of the Freight Forwarding business and the Centralized Exam Station processes
- Responsible for setting strategic direction for the CES business unit and expanding service offerings by cultivating and growing our relationships with CBP and the Broker community
- Responsible for establishing and managing Key Performance Indicators which deliver world class service
- Responsible for the management of all CES operations and staff
- Responsible for assessing and maintaining strong relationships with transportation partners to ensure cost and service are increasing our value proposition
- Reviews activities, costs (full P&L responsibility), operations, and forecast data to determine department or regional progress toward stated goals and objectives
- Drives an “Intense Safety Focus” culture throughout all facilities
- Ensures facility audits are completed on time and reviews performance to ensure compliance with all Customs related requirements
- Ensures the quality management system procedures and processes are implemented and maintained; oversee productivity, quality, and safety in accordance with company needs and customer requirements
- Works closely with executive management and CES Client Management Vice President to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions
- Drives continuous improvement across all sites ensuring a “Passion for Excellence” is a constant focus to drive cost reductions and improve service levels
- Oversees all site equipment purchases and/or leases. Works closely with the VP of Operations Support with equipment selection and leasing/purchasing contracts and negotiations
- Responsible for monitoring the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of employees and leadership to ensure CES is staffed to exceed customer expectations and is viewed as an employer of choice

Required Education and Experience
- Minimum 10 years of Senior Management experience in high volume diverse Third Party Logistics (3PL) operations including distribution, fulfillment, e-commerce, cross-docking/transloading, port/rail drayage, domestic FTL/LTL transportation, air & ocean freight
- Bachelor's degree in Business Logistics or Transportation or 10 years equivalent work experience
- Computer literacy with MS Office Suite essential; prior experience with Warehouse Management Systems or Transportation Management Systems desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong leadership and leadership development skills with demonstrated experience in effectively managing and leading teams
- Strong background in managing process improvement/efficiencies and problem solving
- Demonstrated planning, project management, problem solving techniques and analytical skills; able to partner and communicate with all levels of an organization from hourly associates to senior management as well as customer contacts at various levels
- Prior experience with the preparation of operating budgets, capital improvement projects, cost reduction initiatives and productivity improvement plans, ROI’s, and the ability to understand financial statements and resulting cost implications
