What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Growth position at CUTS Clothing?

As the Director of Growth, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive growth strategy that drives D2C customer acquisition, engagement, and retention, while maximizing ROI. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with the executive team on a frequent basis across product, design, operations, sales, and customer success. This is a full time, in-office position reporting to the CEO.

Primary Job Requirements

  • Data/Measurement Acumen: Ability to analyze and calibrate cross-channel marketing attribution in an effort to properly allocate media investment
    • Familiarity with MMM and MTA platforms
  • Forecasting: Accurately anticipate revenue trends related to investment decisions
  • Channel Strategy: Knowledge and ability to drive cross-channel media strategy across key digital players, including Meta, Google, Affiliate, OTT, podcasts, owned, etc.
    • Less relevant channels includes offline, however, with continue growth will become a larger priority in 8 quarters
    • Given current business maturity, priority should be in media partner(s) that maintain largest share of investment (i.e., Meta, Google)
  • Testing: Oversee cross-channel testing frameworks with ability to identify biggest opportunity areas
  • Customer Acquisition: Develop and identify “reach” audience to help expand NCA beyond existing core customer set. Thereafter, establish specific strategies to connect – and sell – product to new customer groups (i.e., how can we expand beyond ‘work leisure’, is there an opportunity to expand and intentionally target your non-core customer?) While your core customer-type will likely remain your predominant end user, identify new niches will be key to growth
  • Customer Persona: Deeply understand your customer’s reason’s for buying and create specific personas; this understanding will help influence how you target and message unique customer groups

Own DTC growth metrics for the business, including new user acquisition, revenue growth, CAC, and retention. Develop and execute a growth marketing strategy across paid and owned channels, including:

  • Email marketing on Klaviyo, including creative, execution, and testing/optimization for automations and campaigns.
  • Owned social media strategy and content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Understanding of affiliate/brand ambassador program and direct partner relationships and how to optimize.
  • Other growth channels as determined by the business (i.e. Influencer, athlete, etc.).
  • Conversion Rate Optimization for Shopify store, including development and implementation of landing pages, third-party apps to increase conversion rate and AOV, and other growth optimizations.
  • Day to day lead with agencies and other external digital marketing partners.
  • Analyze customer behavior and market trends to develop & optimize growth initiatives and measure the impact of marketing efforts.
  • Develop and manage a budget and negotiate contracts with vendors as needed.
  • Opportunity to build and lead a team of growth marketers as the brand grows.

Other Requirements:

  • 5 years of growth marketing experience, with a proven track record of driving customer acquisition and engagement for a fast-growing eCommerce company.
  • Experience in apparel and fashion industry a plus.
  • Strong belief in a culture of both support and accountability.
  • Understanding of startup mentality and willingness to deviate from stated workplan when needed.
  • Experience with performance marketing channels, including paid search, paid social, email, video, and other acquisition channels.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to develop/analyze KPIs and make data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with analytics and marketing technology, including Google Analytics, Meta, and Klaviyo.
  • Familiarity with and experience building in Shopify’s suite of products and 3rd party apps.

Salary Range:

$120K - $180K (open to discuss) 

Salary is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by Cuts Clothing, Inc.
