Job Duties:

2nd Shift BHT Supervisor

  • Schedule coverage as needed with approval for overtime.
  • Assign shift duties and monitor completion.
  • Complete probationary and annual reviews as needed.
  • Initiate disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Review shift summaries and incident reports for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review time sheets for accuracy and initial.
  • Ensure patient units are clean, orderly and in safe condition.
  • Complete maintenance requests as needed.
  • Ensure grounds are maintained.
  • Conduct monthly fire drills as scheduled and submit written report.
  • Monitor medication dispensation; review MARS and shift reports for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assists in assuring daily program activities: transports patients, coordinates group activities, and supervises all recreational activities.
  • Communicates all pertinent care information to the Program Director.
  • Help with coverage of vacations, sick time, etc.
  • Record patient behavior, problems, issues in communication log in a timely, legible, and helpful manner.
  • Interact appropriately with patients, showing them respect while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times.
  • Communicate with other staff as necessary to promote quality patient care.
  • Provide emotional support for patients while referring them to therapy staff to deal with clinical issues.
  • Safely transports clients in company vehicles.
  • Reports all motor vehicle incidents to supervisor no matter how slight.
  • Maintains the offices, residences, equipment and services of Banyan Philadelphia in a manner that preserves the dignity and provides for the comfort and safety of all individuals admitted for treatment as well as staff and visitors
  • Communicates general environmental observations and issues to Program Director
  • Maintains a good public relation with the addiction treatment community and associates.
  • Attends in-service education programs as assigned to learn new forms, procedures, developmental skills, etc.
  • Accurately Perform blood pressure reading on patient and report findings to nursing staff
  • Accurately Take patient pulse and report findings to nursing staff
  • Have a understanding of normal as well as abnormal vital signs
  • Complete UDS on patient according to company policy
  • Test for pregnancy according to company policy.
  • Glucose Testing
  • Demonstrates an ability to work with Substance Abuse clients.
  • Demonstrates an ability to bond with patients and elicit respect.
  • Demonstrates ability to adapt to different types of patients.

  • Assists, promotes, and carries out Premier Staffing’s philosophy of treatment.
  • Build positive relationships with staff and clients.
  • Represents the program to referral sources, potential patients, and other outside individuals and agencies in a courteous, professional manner that reflects positively on the program and its staff.
  • Answer telephones courteously and directs calls as requested.
  • Protects the confidentiality of patients and the privacy of staff.
  • Uses computer to type correspondence, reports and other items as requested, ensuring that typing is accurate, as needed by position.
  • Notes patient care and environmental issues and communicates with appropriate staff.
  • Accepts and utilizes supervision.
  • Addresses problems noted by supervisor.
  • Understand and apply the program’s philosophy
  • Demonstrate good strategic and problem-solving skills
  • Ensure that documentation is timely, consistent, clear and articulate
  • Keep records secure at all times.
  • Communicate with supervisor and keep supervisor informed of significant developments
  • Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities and contribute to the welfare of the organization
  • Pursue professional development through participation in education and training programs.
  • Has good work habits; get things done a timely, efficient, manner with no excessive absences; is on time on scheduled shifts and prepared to begin work.
  • Function well as a team member and contribute positively to the morale of staff
  • Maintain good communication.
  • Willingness to be a team player.
  • To complete Incident reports as required.
  • To communicate with other staff as necessary to promote quality patient care.
  • Interact appropriately with patients, showing them respect while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times.
  • Maintains the offices, residences, equipment and services of Banyan Philadelphia in a manner that preserves the dignity and provides for the comfort and safety of all individuals admitted for treatment as well as staff and visitors
  • Follows Infection Control guidelines at all times.
  • Reports personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Infection Control Nurse
  • Maintains a good public relation with the addiction treatment community and associates.
  • Demonstrates adherence to accepted ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or BHT Certification preferred Valid Driver License.
  • At least One to Two years of experience in the field of chemical dependency/substance abuse and/or psychiatric setting and has demonstrated ability to work with patients in a residential environment
  • CBHT, preferred
  • Maintains CPR certification, required.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.
