Marketing & Events Coordinator
DEFENSEWERX (DWX) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that utilizes non-FAR based mechanisms to support the Federal Government. The company is headquartered in Niceville, FL and provides oversight to the Doolittle Institute in Niceville, FL in partnership with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory; SOFWERX in Tampa, FL in partnership with U.S. Special Operations Command; MGMWERX in Montgomery, AL in partnership with Air University; ERDCWERX in Vicksburg, MS in partnership with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center; the Cyber Fusion Innovation Center (CFIC) in Augusta, GA in partnership with U.S. Army Cyber Command, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology (DHS S&T) innovation hub, ICWERX innovation hub in partnership with the intelligence community, and the Nautilus innovation hub in Arlington, VA in partnership with NavalX Headquarters.
ROLE:
Serve as the Marketing and Events Coordinator supporting the Cyber Fusion Innovation Center under the Other Transactional Authority (OTA) and report to the Innovation Marketing and Events Coordinator. This role is located in Augusta, Georgia.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Responsible for developing and implementing all plans, procedures, & processes necessary to support events
- Manage the expectations of, and coordinate directly with stakeholders, academia, national labs, industry, and other strategic partners in the region, to ensure the organization remains effective and subsequently valuable to the customer
- Supervise the Graphic Design and Business-Marketing activities and support other collaborators working on events, social media, marketing, the hub’s website while aligning to DWX corporate brand standards
- Provide tours, informational releases, and networking opportunities to further the customer’s public relations
- Be responsible in assuming the latitude, authority, and discretion to work autonomously with those organizations, associations, businesses, and individuals necessary to meet both institutional and the organization’ goals of collaboration, innovation, and acceleration of technologies and capabilities while keeping stakeholders appropriately apprised
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Given the above responsibilities, the following must be performed:
- Coordinate and conduct setup of the facility for events (i.e., room set up/breakdown, assemble audio visual equipment, stocking, and ordering food/beverage)
- Meet with stakeholders to create a timeline, draft agenda, and collateral copy
- Oversee creation of social media content and event marketing collateral
- Maintain a record of event registration and attendance
- Monitor and maintain event budget
- Continually manage, and monitor the health of the Ecosystem database
- Organize post-event feedback
- Assist with mailings, phone inquiries, rsvps, and other duties as needed
- Record and report event results in a timely manner
- Assist in the creation and design of website event vignettes both pre-and post-event
- Build the team and bring a positive attitude to the environment
Non-Essential, but Desired Additional Functions:
- Participate in the analysis of promising future operational application discussions to assess their practicality, maturity, and potential ability to be actualized to meet customer needs
- Develop and leverage relationships across the enterprise, industry, academia, labs and other non-traditional players
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years prior relevant experience or a combination of education and experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive attitude and great work ethic
- Desire to create and maintain and positive atmosphere
- Ability to problem solve and think quickly on your feet
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, high attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Able to create professional correspondence in fast paced, open collaborative environment
- Exceptional computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required
- Capable of taking on projects and being responsible for their successful completion
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance
- Able to lift 55lbs
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Mail Chimp, Hubspot, Big Contacts, photography, and WordPress preferred
