Position Overview: The Estimator is responsible for providing cost estimates and preparing bids for a variety of construction projects, ranging from retail, restaurant, hospitality, and hotel fit-outs to commercial and industrial buildings. The Estimator will develop accurate cost estimates based on reliable research, labor costs, material prices, and other factors, and will work closing with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to ensure that bids are submitted on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and compile data to estimate materials, labor, and other construction costs.
- Obtain pricing for materials, labor, and subcontractors from vendors and other sources.
- Create detailed estimates for construction projects and provide appropriate supporting data.
- Analyze estimates and bids to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain the best price.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to ensure estimates and bids meet the requirements of the project.
- Submit estimates and bids on time and within budget.
- Monitor changes to the scope of the project and provide updated estimates as needed.
- Maintain records of estimates, bids, and other related documents.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as an estimator at a General Contractor
- Experience estimating all trades
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with relevant construction estimating software.
- Competitive Salary 90-120K depending on experience
