Lab Assistant / Accessioner
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading PCR lab, servicing over 15k clients nationwide. You will be part of a brand new, state-of-the-art, CLIA-certified laboratory. The Lab Assistants accurately accession patient sample information into the Laboratory Information Management System.
Responsibilities:
- Review all information is accurate and meets company standards
- Accurately accession patient sample information and physician test orders according to requisitions
- Accept deliveries from couriers
- Provide oversight of orders on requisitions on pre-accessioned samples
- Identify missing information and execute proper route as necessary
- Provide oversight of physician/patient information required by HIPPA/CLIA/CAP and best practices
- Scan patient requisitions for medical records
- Maintain an error rate below .10% with a goal of zero errors per month
Requirements and Desired Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent, required. Some college coursework with healthcare focus preferred.
- 6 months experience working in a laboratory environment
- Strong organizational skills; able to multitask
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information.
- Able to work independently and complete work accurately in a timely manner
- Good communication skills
- Experience working in MS Office Suite, required.
Pay Rate: $17 - $20 per hour
