What are the responsibilities and job description for the CCTV Technician position at D & D Design?
The Security/CCTV Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing existing CCTV, access control, and burglar systems as well as provide coordination between county department heads and elected officials and installation vendor for all new project design, planning, and implementation as it relates to all security systems and serve as the project manager for all projects in this field.
Responsibilities
- Manage new CCTV, access control, and burglar system projects from design through purchasing, installation, and handoff
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the existing security system infrastructure as needed
- Re-aiming cameras, troubleshooting connectivity issues of any security system device
- Overseeing all warranty work or outside vendor work as needed for higher level support requests
- Troubleshooting electric door strikes, Iris scanners and/or other access control devices
- Providing user training and assistance with exporting video footage as needed by law enforcement or other personnel
- While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
- Manage access to county-wide CCTV and access control systems
- Any other assigned duties or tasks as is necessary
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications
- Knowledge of CCTV systems
- Basic knowledge of desktop operating systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
- This position requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and advanced computer literacy
- Ability to detect and correct grammatical and spelling errors in written correspondence
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical county departments and agencies to derive solutions to technology issues
- Ability to initiate objectives with minimal supervision

- Ability to understand and use web-based application software
- Must have a solid foundation in computer operating systems, hardware and software troubleshooting

- Incumbent must possess the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
