In collaboration with other members of the Strategic Communications team, develops and executes internal and external communications strategies and messaging for New Hampshire’s only academic health system. Works closely with the leaders to create and disseminate emails, memos, news releases, newsletters and other communications vehicles. Also works to measure and analyze reach and effectiveness of print, electronic, and social media communications vehicles and platforms.
Responsibilities:
1. Works with leaders to disseminate internal memos and messages to D-HH staff and providers.
2. Curates and publishes appropriate content to social media outlets.
3. Schedules photos, provides contact information and assists with the approval process for content written by freelancers. Maintains updated content expert lists, article directory, story analytics and other summary reports as needed.
4. Writes social media and events announcements for D-H Weekly publication.
5. Proofreads memos, announcements, articles and publications as needed.
6. Assists Marketing and Communications staff in preparing and sending email communications to employee audiences.
7. Develops relationships with D-HH system communications colleagues to support system-wide communications.
8. Maintains internal email lists for D-H and D-HH providers and staff.
9. Using internal and external communications platforms, promotes Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s events, new providers and other significant news.
10. Works to identify stories of interest that promote Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s mission to strengthen and build awareness of the system.
11. Collaborates on daily summary of news media coverage of D-HH (D-H in the News) as necessary.
12. In conjunction with team members, develops reporting and measurement of news media and social media coverage that demonstrates the department’s proactive media results and recommends changes based on trends and statistics.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field or the equivalent in education and experience required.
Three (3) years of Communications experience with writing proficiency required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with media monitoring software (Meltwater), distribution services (EurekAlert, PRNewswire, etc.) and social media monitoring (Sprout Social, Bambu) preferred
Experience in health care preferred
