What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Administrator position at D.H. Pace Company, Inc.?
DH Pace Company, Inc. is looking for a Contract Administrator to join our Risk Management Team in Olathe, KS! Your main duties will be to review, negotiate and maintain various construction contracts, including bids, service agreements, and construction contracts.
A successful Contract Administrator will demonstrate a strong attention to detail along with the ability to discover potential risks for our company. You should also analyze contracts with an eye toward reducing risk while ensuring compliance with the law. Our ideal candidate has previous experience managing contracts, familiarity with legal requirements and terms of use, and be prepared to spend a minimum of 60% of their day reading contracts.
Position Overview:
- Reviewing Bids, Service Agreements and Construction contracts
- Negotiate contract terms with internal and external business partners
- Explain terms and conditions to managers and interested parties
- Analyze potential risks involved with specific contract terms
- Ensure terms and conditions described on contracts meet our standards (e.g. payments, indemnity, and insurance)
- Maintain organized system of physical and digital records
- Help Create language standards for existing and new contracts
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures, suggesting enhancements designed to augment the operations of the department.
- Provide backup and support to departmental functions
- Other duties as may be assigned by Risk Management.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with an emphasis in Risk Management, Business Administration or related field and 3 years’ experience.
Legal and/or Insurance experience preferred.
Must have strong negotiation/communication skills.
Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software required, including but not limited to MS Office Suites.
Construction experience a plus.
