D & L Entertainment Services is NOW HIRING Security Officers to work at the Irving Convention Center.
We are looking for candidates that already have their Level II security license. We can offer $17.00 per hour and are offering two (2) full-time and one (1) part-time opportunity
We are looking for candidates that are flexible working a rotation of shifts based on business needs. Shifts within a work week may rotate between the following three shift times listed below.
- 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
- 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
- 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
The unarmed (non-commissioned) officers will ensure the safety and security of patrons, clients and guests who visit this venue.. They will monitor facilities, grounds and persons for any hazards or suspicious activity that may be a threat. The security officer will need to calmly respond to all emergencies and analyze/evaluate information to quickly determine the appropriate course of action. They will also need to complete detailed reports for events, incidents and complaints.
The individuals that join our team will need to be very personable & presentable and able to demonstrate a detail-oriented, highly-organized mindset with excellent interpersonal skills. This role is highly focused on providing exceptional customer service to internal and external clients and guests. It is essential that they possess the ability to thrive individually and as part of a high-performance team, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
You should possess prior security knowledge with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, guests and fellow security staff.
Job Functions may include:
- Access Control (doors, receiving deliveries)
- Asset Protection
- Crowd Management
- Enforce venue policy and procedures
- Inspection (hand wands, magnetometers, and bag checks)
- Monitor venue via closed circuit camera, access control, fire detection
- Safeguard venue assets through foot patrols of each building and grounds
- Complete & submit all required documentation through IMS System for Incident
Reports, Lost & Found and Fire Extinguisher Status Reports
- Report any unsafe working conditions or practices to management
- Take appropriate first measures to correct an unsafe condition
- Complete continuing education and/or training as it is made available
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Ability to meet attendance standards
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Able to pass all criminal history background checks
- Must be 18 years of age, 21 years or older preferred
- Problem solving skills in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
- Requires current State of Texas issued Level II Security License
- Skills in assessing customer needs and exceeding quality standards of service
- Appropriate appearance and dress required at all times, uniforms are provided
- Excellent communication skills between all departments, customers and the public
- Capable of sitting or standing for extended periods of time, and able to lift 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation or a knowledge of DART schedules to ensure on-time reporting
- Basic experience in computer skills such as MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to type is preferred b/c report preparation is a key responsibility of the role
- Candidates that are tech savvy are preferred
- Experience monitoring CCTV cameras preferred
