Da/Pro Rubber, a leading custom manufacturer of precision rubber & plastics parts, is seeking a Plant Chemist. The Plant Chemist will be responsible for developing and improving rubber formulations while managing the systems that interface with quality and production. Some experience related to business development, customer relations, or direct support to these functions is highly desirable.

Work schedule is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient with rubber compounding
- Minimum of 2 years experience in rubber compounding
- Bachelor of Science Degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Engineering Science
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop elastomer materials (natural rubber, nitriles, butyls, neoprene, etc.)
- Utilize lab equipment (mill, curing press) and test apparatuses (rheometer, tensiometer, etc.) to fabricate and evaluate developed materials
- Perform investigative R&D work, including evaluating materials to developing the specs and Method of Manufacturing (MOM)
- Evaluate physical and chemical properties of new and alternate materials
- Work with engineering department to conduct analyses, interpret test results, and develop non-standard testing
- Prepare test reports and product data sheets
- Provide training to lab technicians and machine operators
- Develop manufacturing specifications and method of manufacturing
- Coordinate, observe, and report on production trials
- Identify and reduce process variation to improve quality
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce cost
- Investigate product complaints
- Site Safety program
- Solve manufacturing problems and product problems to determine root cause and implement corrective action
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Company offers medical, dental, and vision insurance plus a 401K.
