What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nutritionist position at DABS, Inc.?
The Nutritionists counsel clients on nutrition issues and health eating habits. They will be experts in the use of food and nutrition to promote health to manage disease and help people lead healthy lives.
\n- Evaluate client’s health and exercise levels to create individualized nutrition plans to develop and implement a nutrition care plan while considering the client’s budget and tastes.
- Monitor and document the patient’s response to the nutrition care delivered.
- Manage and track prepared meals and creating a nutrition plan and tracking sheets.
- Review client’s medical records to properly counsel patents on any dietary issues and healthy eating habits.
- Training staff on nutritional requirements for clients.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Must have a passion and deep commitment to help others manage a better lifestyle through nutrition.
- Diet and Nutrition education and coaching for our clients in a 1:1 setting or group setting.
- At least one year of experience coordinating services for people with developmental disabilities or other human services delivery system.
- Must have own transportation, valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record and satisfy the minimum state requirement regarding auto insurance.
- No criminal record.
- Must obtain CPR/First Aid within 30 days of employment.
- Must be capable of pushing, pulling and lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Typing skills with at least 30 WPM.
- Demonstrated ability to operate common office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, telephones, copy machines, computer monitors, printers and postage machines.
- Must have experience with using common computer installed software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe.
- Working with people with disabilities and sensitivity to related disability issues.
- High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
- Must have experience with cloud-based software and utilizing the Internet.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, subordinates, superiors, the general public, representatives of public and private organizations and others sufficient to exchange or convey information.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and independent judgment within established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to organize own work, coordinating projects, setting priorities, meeting deadlines and following up on assignments with a minimum of direction.
- Ability and willingness to work some early mornings, evenings and weekend days if and when needed.
