Role and Responsibilities
Job Duties - Yogurt processors, “cooks”, take on a variety of tasks to ensure the highest ingredient quality and finished product. Processors are required to measure out ingredient components and properly mix ingredients to create the right formula. They also operate different pieces of equipment to get the final product right. While operating food preparation equipment, food processors must ensure the essentials, like temperature, equipment gauges and other controls, are properly set.
· Understanding of food GMP’s
· Follow recipes and formulas to produce yoghurt products that have a very specific texture, color, flavor, and clarity.
· Record production data for every product batch, including information regarding, temperature, time cycle and ingredients utilized.
· Use an agitator or paddle to blend and mix ingredients as called for in recipe instructions or operate vats that mix and heat ingredients mechanically.
· Measure, weigh and select ingredients with the assistance of balance scale or flow meter.
· Observe, monitor, and adjust temperature and gauges throughout the production process to ensure that the mixing vat temperature is kept within the correct temperature parameters.
· Start equipment and turn valve controls as needed to maintain product quality during production.
· Monitor and listen to equipment to detect audible or visual signs of malfunctions, including plugs, leaks, and other failures. Report any malfunctions or quality issues immediately to supervisors.
· Clean and sterilize factory processing areas and food production vats daily.
· Understanding of HACCP and SQF Not required but a plus
Other requirements:
· All job duties are hands on working with food manufacturing and processing equipment
· The environment will be working around water and cleaning materials.
· The duty requires frequent climbing, bending, pulling, and pushing.
· This includes high pressure hoses.
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
· Must be okay with working weekends and overtime.
· Must comply with all established safety procedures along with OSHA rules and regulations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
