We are currently seeking an experienced PLANNING PROJECT MANAGER in our Pleasanton, CA location. This individual is responsible for directing, coordinating and administering projects through initial phases of development, including urban design, site planning and other planning studies and programs, through entitlement and/or approvals.  They will work directly with the client and/or jurisdictions, consultants, and other team members to deliver complete, coordinated, and consistent documents on time and within budget. They will also guide and direct other technical staff.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage projects and teams, across multiple projects.
• Participates in writing proposals.
• Establish and monitor project budgets, prepares project schedules and manage the contract and understand client/contract requirements, including deliverables.
• Review project billings and update projections regularly.
• Monitor project receivables and assist in the collection of receivables.
• Has client contact and authority to direct, control and monitor all project activities.
• Function as the main point of contact with the client and city agencies.
• Oversees production of planning documents and graphic packages for entire project(s).
• Review documents, exhibits, and other deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and coordination.
• Conducts urban design and site planning on projects on varying scales
• Provides oversight and monitors the work of less experienced technical staff.
• Direct, lead, and mentor staff to ensure professional development.
• Works under the general guidance of a Senior Planner or Principal.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
• Able to lead & collaborate virtually using digital platforms
• Self-confident; tenacious while maintaining positive working relationships with clients, outside consultants, and technical staff
• Able to effectively and positively provide direction and lead architectural / planning staff
• Strong skills and talent in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp modeling, Adobe Photoshop, and preparation of presentation materials, preferred
• Able to travel to meet with clients and team members on-site as needed

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & CERTIFICATION:

• Graduate of a NAAB accredited 4 or 5 year planning/architecture school
• 8 years' experience in Architectural Planning and/or Urban Design preferred
• AICP certification preferred
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship
