Brief Description
Under the direction of the Domestic Relations Director, this position is responsible for planning, developing and administering the operations of the Family Court Services Division to efficiently provide valid and reliable services to the courts and the community.
Detailed Description
Defines, establishes, administers and implements procedures and goals of the department in compliance with policy and ethical standards of the County, district courts and professional licensure. Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates performance and terminates professional and clerical personnel. Provides case consultation and review for counselors, and support for work related stresses. Evaluates program needs, directs modifications and designs and implements innovations. Prepares budget, monitors expenditures and makes recommendations for space, equipment and personnel needs. . Defines and implements standards and policies for reliable social study assessments, effective written reports and expert witness testimony and mediation services. Acts as a liaison between the department, judges, district court personnel, attorneys, County departments, clients, other agencies and the community to resolve problems and ensure appropriate service delivery and responsiveness. May testify in court as a keeper of records, in the absence of a counselor. Designs, implements and monitors case record keeping systems, records and documents. Develops and participates in departmental educational orientation programs for adults and children, provides educational information to the community, and develops professional continuing education for staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and experience equivalent to a Master�s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or in a job related field of study. Five (5) years of work related experience required, to include two (2) years of supervisory experience. Must be licensed by the State of Texas in one of the above disciplines. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing. Mandatory drug test prior to and during employment. Must obtain mediation training within one (1) year of the employment date. Requires Texas Driver�s License with good driving record. Standard office environment.
