Essential job functions include:
Induction/Dismantle of Engine/Components
* Set up engine/component into work area
* Complete check in process - reviewing documentation
* Identifying the status of the engine/component and determine if any outstanding modification or airworthiness directive need to be incorporated
* De-stack/disassemble engine, modules, components and/or accessories
* Record and take measurements while dismantling, document with pictures as required
* Prepare parts to get cleaned and repaired, clean parts as required
* Balance as required
Inspection
* Inspects the parts determining if they are able to be repaired or replaced
* Route repairable parts to appropriate area
* Place order for parts required
Kit and Assemble Engines/Modules and Components
* Ensures all parts required are ready and available for assembly of the engine or component
* Assemble complete engines, modules, components and/or assemblies
* Final release process - checking product for compliance
Follow Manuals and Technical Data
* Uses manuals and technical specifications to determine proper operating conditions
* Reads technical specifications to identify product discrepancies and deficiencies
* Verifying the conformance of parts to manuals and technical data
Position Requirements
Pre-requisites
* Mechanical and/or aviation experience/aptitude preferred
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
Mechanic Trainee
* Basic knowledge of engines/components
* Understanding of parts and when they need to be fixed or replaced
* Read manuals and technical data
Mechanic I
* Routine induction/ dismantle of engines/components
* Thorough Inspection of basic parts
* Kit and assemble engines/components
* Read and understand manuals and technical data, knowledge to find and follow instructions
Mechanic II
* Thorough inspection of complex parts, provides guidance to issues as they arise
* Read and understand manuals and technical data, knowledge to interpret information to address issues as they arise
* Look for opportunities to improve processes, initiate continuous improvements
Mechanic III
* Proficient in induction and dismantle of engines/components, assist other mechanics as needed
* Balances modules or components
* Advanced understanding or manuals and technical data
* Guides and trains other mechanics
* Thorough knowledge, can easily find interpret instructions and act as a resource for other mechanics
* Signs off other mechanics in skills once proficient
Mechanic IV
* Assists other mechanics with troubleshooting, during assemble, inspect and dismantle process
* Weld and braze when required to assemble engine/component
* Inspection of unique parts
* In depth knowledge of processes
* May assist cell leader, as required
* May have contact with customers
