What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Dan-D-Pak?
The Production Manager is responsible for the direction and supervision of all hourly associates and temporary employees (within the production department) at the Dan-D-Pak facility to ensure safety, production, and quality requirements are obtained, and to meet window times efficiently and consistently.
Key Accountabilities:
Responsible for managing hourly staff effectively, resulting in customer order fulfillment.
Schedule Production monthly, weekly and daily with sales and inventory input
Dan-D-Pak Quality Management System Responsibility:
- Assesses the quality of product and assisting within the production area with packing and shipping the products.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity's relating to the product, process and quality system
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system
- Initiate, recommend, and/or provide solutions through designated channels*
Ensures adherence to all safety rules, policies, and regulations
Help with buying materials/product
Supervise and oversee the execution of new product scale up to commercialization in order to ensure smooth and timely transfer and/or launch of new robust and high quality products.
Lead and participate in developing and optimizing food production processes by applying expert technical and troubleshooting skills and knowledge.
Prepare samples for internal presentation and meet with customers.
Participate in product sample cutting/analysis.
Participate in re-design / re-formulation of existing products to maximize efficiency, capacity and quality.
Suggest cost savings initiatives (e.g. alternate casings, spices, materials, reformulation of products.
Your Attributes:
- 5-7 Years of experience in production facility
- Provides strong leadership of plant production employees in a manner that fosters participation in continuous improvement efforts, open communication and a self-directed team approach
- Maintains effective communication through the proper channels
- Must be results-oriented
- Must like working with people, able to recognize employee contributions and support their work performance
- Must be able to work in a changing environment
- Must have a valid driver's license (a driving record will be necessary during the interview process)
