What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer - Intimate Apparel (Bras) position at Dana-Co?
We are looking for a Designer with experience in lingerie design, a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of garment construction, and a passion for creating bras that not only fit perfectly but also make our customers feel empowered.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in lingerie design, trend forecasting, and fabric sourcing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to help guide the design process from concept to production, working closely with our cross-functional teams to bring innovative and marketable bra designs to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new bra collections, ensuring they align with our brand aesthetic and customer preferences.
- Conduct thorough trend research and analysis to identify emerging styles, colors, and fabrics relevant to our target demographic.
- Collaborate with the product development team to select high-quality materials that meet our standards for comfort, durability, and sustainability.
- Create detailed technical sketches, spec sheets, and tech packs for each bra design, ensuring accurate fit and construction.
- Conduct fit sessions and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal fit and comfort.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and production, to ensure cohesive brand messaging and timely product delivery.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings to inform future design decisions.
Qualifications:
- Must have 5 years of experience in lingerie design, with a focus on bras.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of bra designs from concept to production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Excellent understanding of bra construction, fit, sizing and fabrication
- Knowledge of industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
