HR/Payroll Associate
Responsibilities:
* Weekly payroll approval, verification of codes, absence KPI's
* System updates of hourly, salary transfers and new hires
* Administration of GWI, bonus payments, vacation payout, and other matters related to Payroll processes
* Administration of Attendance program
* FMLA & disability administration and wage calculations
* Submission of Union dues, various invoices into Ariba
* Respond to day-to-day employee inquiries & requests
* Build relationships with Salary Supervisors, Staff and Union leadership
* Be an advocate for employees to support correct weekly pay.
* Participate in hourly hiring events
* Participation in on-boarding, orientation, transfer, exit, and assignment changes for both hourly & salary employees.
* Investigation of grievances & assist Management in resolution of grievances.
* Conduct & advise Management on corrective discipline including coaching and progressive discipline.
* Assist with workplace investigations and issue discipline when deemed necessary.
* Recommends and implements new approaches, policies, and procedures for continuous improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
* Recommendation of improvements to ADP, ETime, HRIS systems.
* Administers human resources policies, procedures, and programs, including FMLA, disability, tuition reimbursement, work conduct, etc.
* Conduct training for Salary employees: CBA, Policies, ETime, etc.
* Administer provisions of Agreements, Policies, Work Rules & counsel Management in the interpretation of Agreements.
* This position will require off-shift work; must be willing and able to work flexible, & additional hours as required.
* Assist with employee engagement initiatives to promote an engaged and empowered workforce.
* Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Job Requirements
* Minimum of 3-5 years' HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Education minimum of a 4-year degree (BA or BS) in applicable area or education and experience equivalent.
* Strong understanding of HR law including FMLA, AADA, HIPPA, EEOC, ADEA, NLRA, ERISA, OSHA, and FLSA.
* Influencing without Authority, Managerial Courage, Action Oriented, Comfort around Higher Management, and Dealing with Ambiguity
* Strong organizational skills, strategic and technical abilities
* Excellent written & oral communication skills.
* Strong team building & people skills including the ability to resolve conflicting interests & obtain cooperation.
* Strong interpersonal skills & ability to easily build credibility with internal customers & associates.
* Organizational skills - ability to manage high workload of data and multitask proficiently.
* Honest / Integrity; must be role model for other in organization.
* Proficiency in Windows environment, including Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Outlook. SAP or other HR systems experience a plus.
* ADP Payroll processing experience a plus.
* Background in labor relations a plus.
