We are looking for a Modality Manager, Chromatography Resin to work with our expert Downstream BioProcess Specialist team of forty  employees across the Globe. Do you have a passion for Science & BioProcess? Then we would love to hear from you.  

What you’ll do

  • Lead team of Process Chromatography Sales Specialists and Downstream Application Specialists within assigned geographical area while implementing the technical and commercial strategy for downstream chromatography resins. Optimize use of resources in conjunction with BioProcess Chromatography Resin Modality Leader and Regional Zone Leaders to cover market potential to achieve the operating plan
  • Financial performance for assigned geographical region: Accountable to achieve quarterly and yearly Product Operating Plan targets (Orders, Sales, Contribution Margin, Base Costs and Operating Margin). Provide timely and accurate forecasting of pipeline and sales per the normal reporting cycles within the Product Business unit.  Contribute to the formulation of the yearly business planning cycle for their product business unit for growth playbook.
  • Coach and assist team with the differentiation of product offerings and solutions during the various stages of the sales process to actively move the customer through their decision-making process towards a successful outcome.  Continuous development of deep scientific, technical and product knowledge within team.
  • Provide leadership on chromatography products through knowledge and understanding of customers’ needs, Cytiva products, applications, marketing, sales support and competitors portfolios.  Continuous learning and understanding of the customers changing technical and/or operational issues and challenges.
  • Understand and analyze market dynamics and competition, establish extended market intelligence in relation to customer pipeline in order to develop business opportunities for business.
  • Attract, retain, coach and develop world-class commercial and technical talent to realize product commercial strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within Downstream Modality and across other Cytiva Modalities for solutions and ways of working to meet our customers’ complex needs and grow business.
  • Drives performance management, providing regular operating mechanism of feedback and coaching.
  • Continuously develop network of key technical decision makers both internally and with customers.

Who you are

  • BS Degree in Science (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry) or Engineering
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of the BioPharm/Biotech Industry with strong, working knowledge of Downstream unit operations and purification.
  • Five years of progressive responsibility post-bachelor's experience:  Research Scientist, Process Development Scientist, Chromatography Product Specialist, or Field Application/Technical Specialist is acceptable.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex problems, communicate issues and propose solutions to both external customers and internal team members.
  • Team oriented with a customer satisfaction mindset
  • Strong leadership, communication, collaboration and influencing skills with proven ability to drive and manage change initiatives in a matrixed environment.
  • High level presentation and interpersonal skills.  Able to present and communicate complex ideas to colleagues and customers to positively impact understanding and influence internal/ external relationships.
  • Customer focused with a good ability to provide solutions through imagination and clear thinking
  • Willingness to travel within geographic region as well as to periodic national and international travel for meetings.
