POSITION SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to oversee the daily operations of the food services program, which includes providing a variety of nutritious food options to internal and external customers for breakfast and lunch, with a focus on food safety. In addition to daily meal service, this role manages coffee stations throughout a 3 building campus, negotiates vendor contracts for services including vending machine operations, food and beverage suppliers, and ensures proper maintenance of equipment. Additionally, this position is responsible for menu planning, execution of special events, in-house catering for meetings, full cycle recruitment of internal staff and contingent workers, and managing an operating budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan monthly menus, price meals, and order/purchase food items and kitchen supplies
- Promote offerings to drive foodservice revenue
- Provide food selections that satisfy a range of dietary needs
- Ensure adherence to applicable safety and health regulations
- Manage on-site catering events / requests
- Maintain equipment by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
- Manage the preparation and planning of special events/activities, including holiday meals and activities, service awards, monthly summer BBQs, etc.
- Administer ticket sales for professional teams and outdoor activities
- Recruit, retain, develop, motivate and manage food service staff
- Balance cash and credit receivables and prepare deposits
- Control costs by using available and seasonal ingredients, identify and qualify suppliers, set standards for quality and inventory quantity.
- Create and manage an annual budget
- Process vendor invoices for payment
- Record and deposit all transactions regarding ticket sales and Funds for Fun account
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Formal training in food service desired
- Minimum three (3) years food service management experience required
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a food service budget
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification required
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
