Semikron-Danfoss is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join us at our Utica, New York facility. As Maintenance Supervisor, your responsibility is to sustain production machinery(tools), provide consistent tool performance, keep systems and equipment running by preventative maintenance, making repairs, acquiring, and installing necessary replacement parts, along with cost reduction activities with the Maintenance Team.
- Supervise Maintenance Technicians
- Ensure stable operation and timely repair of devices and machines involved in production
- Present technical data and project updates to peers and management in both casual and formal environment
- Order tools, supplies, parts, and equipment as needed
- Ensures the maintenance team follows all company policies and procedures
- Escalate machine failure issues to management and recommend solutions
- Troubleshoot minor and complex tool issues to resolution
- Communicate with leaders of other departments details of all tool downtimes
- Mentor and train Maintenance Technicians
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, production engineering and production staff to improve overall quality metrics for the factory, scrap and rework reduction, and overall cost reduction
- Ensure adequate stocking of spares, consumables, and non-consumable parts are available to maintain production equipment availability
- Create detailed machine configuration documentation, perform machine functionality acceptances, lead, or assist in 4 Step, 8D and other structured problem-solving activities
- Exhibit strong communication skills with equipment suppliers to ensure crisp execution on projects with high efficiency and quality including line down situations and repairs
- Travel occasionally to various manufacturing sites and vendor sites to learn and share knowledge.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:
- At least 5 years of maintenance experience is required, and 2 years of management experience is preferred
- Knowledgeable in maintenance best practices
- Efficient use of time and project management skills
- Proficiency with software applications, Microsoft Office, Excel as well as specific programs of SAP, IBM Maximo, Factbird, and Adicom
- Able to create reports and document procedures
- Familiarity with OEE, MTTR, MTBF, and TPM concepts
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing and preventative maintenance procedures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with IBM Maximo asset management software
- Familiarity with SAP, or other manufacturing execution systems
- Strong computer skills
- Detail oriented
