ABOUT THE JOB:
At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator based in our Chatsworth, California manufacturing plant! In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to plant employees in the areas of payroll, employment, benefits, compensation, recruiting, engagement, compliance, HR systems, reporting and recordkeeping.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Serve as first point of contact for HR questions and provide first level support to and act as a central contact for all employees and provide support to other HR Coordinators at plant location as applicable.
- Process and audit bi-weekly payroll and off-cycle payments.
- Process employment changes including data gathering, completion of applicable documents, securing approval & submission in HR systems.
- Creates new hire employee files and is responsible for creating and maintaining company badges and verifying I-9 documentation.
- Process terminations: submit final wages for terminations, process IT tickets, pull I9, employee file, and provide termination packets
- Managing temporary employee program, and building/maintaining relationships with staffing agencies.
- Track policy violations and issue corrective actions if applicable ensuring all forms are signed and returned timely.
- Provides support to the recruitment function by opening job requisitions in ICIMS, coordinating candidate interviews. Manage pre-employment assessments. Communicate with hiring managers, candidates, 3rd party recruiters, travel agencies and other interview team members to execute well planned interview days.
- Post union job bids, award bids and log them. Track union grievances. Manage weekly and monthly reports to the union (hires, terms, seniority, etc.)
- Conduct new hire onboarding with coordination from the management group.
- Monitor and track LOA.
- Creates and maintains HR communication and consistent corporate messaging. Post all organization announcements including new hires, promotions, YOS communication on TV’s, email, Workplace, and any other relevant communication channel.
- Active participation in annual benefit enrollment, safety, employee engagement and culture activities
- Identify and implement improvements in processes, systems, applications, and procedures.
- Actively participates in all assigned cross-functional team or project-based initiatives.
- Provide support to plant leadership team on various projects.
- Filing, ordering office supplies, and resetting employee passwords
- Other duties as assigned.
The base compensation range for this position is $53,000.00 - $63,000.00 commensurate with experience. About youABOUT YOU:
- You have a high school diploma or GED and have 5 years of HR support experience, required. A bachelor's degree in HR or related field is preferred. SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification is preferred.
- You have 2-3 years' experience processing payroll for over 100 employees, required.
- You have a basic understanding of California employment and payroll law, required.
- Prior experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- You have strong computer skills and are proficient in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, required. Experience with Ceridian Dayforce and ICIMS is a plus.
- You are highly organized, detail oriented and able to meet deadlines in a multi-task, fast-paced environment.
- You can demonstrate knowledge of all pay policies including the Collective Bargaining Agreement to manage error identification and resolution related to payroll and time keeping system.
- You have solid interpersonal skills and have the ability to interact well and provide excellent customer service.
- You are a self-directed individual with initiative, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and able to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
- You have above average written and verbal communication skills
- You are customer focused, collaborative and teamwork oriented. Key to this competency is the ability to listen, prioritize and deliver accurate and speedy results.
- You have the ability to build a strong internal and external network of resources, and to successfully partner with people of various levels and backgrounds. This requires tact, diplomacy, and ability to keep confidentiality.
