Position Summary:
This position is responsible for Managing and forecasting costs on the Pasadena LTO project in the Construction Phase. Position is responsible for Managing and forecasting costs on the Pasadena LTO project in the Construction Phase
Job Duties:
- Works with contractors and the Chevron project team to generate and analyze integrated project costs, forecasts and reports.
- Utilizes change management (management of change, budget transfers, contingency drawdown and trend logs) to ensure the team is aware of the expected estimate at complete.
- Works with Finance to ensure established accounting processes, systems, and procedures are followed.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Monitor costs and commitments
- Generate and update the cash flow forecast on a monthly basis, and as needed to support business planning activities
- Assign cost codes for SOs/POs based on the project cost breakdown structure
- Administer Cost Engineering impacted management of change, including budget transfers, contingency drawdown and trends.
- Maintain consistency in cost bases through rigorous adherence to the controls processes.
- Work with Procurement, Project Management, Scheduling and Contractors to understand VOWD, accruals, outstanding invoices and help resolve claims if necessary
- Work with Finance to ensure established accounting processes, systems, and procedures are followed
- Facilitate meetings and present information to the Project Manager and the Leadership Team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or Business.
- Well-rounded Cost Engineering background
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cost Engineering/Project Controls (oil and gas preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Cost accounting tools - SAP, SMART, Cost Tracking Tools/Dashboards
- Ability to analyze data and summarize information for ease of understanding at multiple levels
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate at all levels and to work well within a team environment with minimal supervision
- Consistently considers problems, process improvements, changes, etc. with an enterprise mindset
