What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Supervisor position at DAP Global Inc.?
DAP is looking to hire Warehouse Supervisor for our Fenton, MO plant.
Under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager this position directs daily shipping, receiving and warehousing activities and any special projects required to achieve company goals. This position will also be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Coordinate and manage projects required by DAP and customers with guidance and support from the Warehouse Manager. Communicate any issues or needs to complete the projects in a timely manner. Train the temporary and permanent workforce to minimize issues, motivate, assign, and reassign manpower to maximize the effectiveness of personnel.
Safety
- Ensure that all associates maintain a safe work environment and that all Warehouse policies and practices are adhered to. Ensure that housekeeping assignments are maintained at an acceptable level in all the areas of responsibility.
Procedure Compliance & Improvement
- Ensure that all special orders are shipped in accordance with established policies, procedures and customer requirements, including complete and proper wrapping, paper work and loading. Notify the Warehouse Manager of problems that need to be corrected to meet these requirements prior to authorizing the shipment for loading. Actively participate in constant improvement by identifying opportunities and bringing forth possible solutions to the Warehouse Manager and maintaining active involvement with the distribution team. Maintain strong relationships with all associates, as well as internal and external customers, to minimize issues.
Support
- Ensure that all administrative duties, including bill of ladings, timesheets and accident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Materials Management
- Coordinate and oversee storage of finished goods to maximize Warehouse space and promote efficient flow of materials, as well as the palletizing of orders and loading of trailers. Ensure quality pallets are being used to build orders and wrapping and loading procedures are being followed for any mini pallet and special build shipments. Order supplies as needed with the assistance of the Warehouse Manager.
Other Duties
- Support the day to day activities of the Warehouse by performing any other task presented by management as well as new hire/temporary training and orientation and hazardous material audits.
Requirements
- High School or GED
- 2 years of experience required.
- Ability to perform arithmetic, ability to read and comprehend instructions provided in written and oral format.
- Working knowledge of Warehouse practices and SAP
- Proven ability to work well and communicate effectively with others within and outside the department
- Forklift drivers license or successful completion of DAP certification within eight (8) weeks
- Hazardous Material Certification for DOT, IATA and IMDG or successful completion for certification within (8) weeks
