Drafter

Darigold is seeking a motivated CAD Drafter to join our Seattle Corporate Engineering Team. The CAD Drafter will be responsible for conceptual drafting projects, such as the preparation of various drawings of process systems, mechanical equipment and structural modifications and additions derived from layouts and sketches. This role will work with Corporate Engineering on process designs, modifications and layouts and follow up on as-built installation drawings, as well as technical specifications. You will work with Corporate Engineering, Plant Engineering and the Maintenance teams regarding model accuracy, design, and drafting standards and will work closely with the various contractors we utilize during our projects.

What You Will Do

• Prepare drawings on process development, quality improvement or costs savings projects for the following:
  • Milk production process piping systems.
  • Process, Mechanical and Electrical Equipment modifications.
  • Environmental, Health and Safety.
  • Fire & Emergency Evacuation.
  • HAACP
  • Refrigeration Systems.
  • Maintenance Programs.
  • Chemical and Hazardous Materials Storage.      
• Maintain documentation and archiving of contractors, vendors, and project drawings.
• Field work with every plant, which will require approximately 20% travel.
• Ability to modify drawings from field notes to ‘as-built’ conditions.
• Partner closely with various contractors to follow up on projects and drawing modifications.
• Ability to work on multiple projects with potentially conflicting priorities.

What You Bring:

• Experience with AutoCAD required.
• 3D experience a plus, but not required.
• Minimum of 4 years of drafting experience required.

Nice to Have’s

• Under minimal supervision, ability to prepare engineering drawings based on conceptual or detailed sketches and red line markups provided by designers and engineers.
• Utilize basic 2D CAD tools and perform basic calculations to support drawing layouts.
• Proficient in basic and advanced 2D CAD commands.
• Ability to work in a highly cross functional environment to support various projects.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a broad range of  fields
• Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
