SAP Basis Administrator

You'll work a hybrid schedule of 3 days on site at our corporate office in Mason, Michigan, and up to 2 days remote.

We're looking for either a Mid level or Senior level SAP Basis Administrator.

Dart Container is seeking an SAP Basis Administrator to join our SAP Administration team!

In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintaintenance and troubleshooting of all SAP-related systems which touches almost every facet of our global company.

Day-to-Day Role:

• Install, configure, and administer complex SAP environments such as clustering, high availability, and load balancing
• Research and implement solutions for Basis functionality in the areas of performance monitoring and tuning, systems configurations, designs and implementation
• Assist the team members with more complex incidents that come to the Basis Administration team
• Function as point of contact for production SAP Basis incidents
• Keep management up-to-date on any outstanding production related issues
• Analyze the current SAP environment, identify system incompatibilities or shortcomings and provide potential improvements to the backend Infrastructure systems
• Assist Infrastructure and Database teams in the requirements definition and design of High Availability/Disaster Recovery, backup/restore, and monitoring
• Provide documentation for technical and process related activities
• Adhere to company software licensing policies and practices
• Provide second/third level support for SAP issues
• Assist in establishing a production support model that includes service level agreements (SLAs), support procedures, on-call schedule, etc.

Additional duties for Senior Basis Administrator include:

• Analyze Basis Admin tickets to identify potential gaps in support. Work with appropriate personnel to mitigate or eliminate those support gaps by suggesting modifications to policy or procedures
• Participate in vulnerability and penetration testing. Design remediation plan and coordinate implementation of plan

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal Mid-level candidate must possess all of the following:

• Requires one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in computer science, database administration, information systems or related field of study, OR
  • Associate’s degree with an emphasis in computer science, database administration, information systems or related field of study and six (6) years of related IT experience, OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and twelve (12) years of related IT experience
• Four (4) years of SAP Basis Administration experience
• Three (3) years of experience with SAP HANA 1.0 or greater

The ideal Senior level candidate must possess all of the following:

• Requires one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in computer science, database administration, information systems or related field of study, OR
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, database administration, information systems or related field of study and eight (8) years of related IT experience, OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and fourteen (14) years of related IT experience
• Six (6) years of SAP Basis administration experience
• Five (5) years of experience with SAP HANA 1.0 or greater

In addition to the above, both levels require:

• Two (2) years of experience with PI/PO, version 7.01 or higher
• Two (2) years of experience with NetWeaver 7.3 or higher
• Experience with two (2) or more of the following: ECC, BW/BI, Solution Manager and/or Wily
• Experience in Enhancement Packages and Switch framework implementation
• Experience with system refreshes
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting servers running in a VMware environment
• Knowledge of virtualization, Active Directory, and Single Sign-on (SSO)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills
• Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
• Up to 25% domestic and international travel
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
• Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
• Additional work hours including weekends holidays as required
• Mandatory on-call rotation required

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Microsoft Windows Server and/or SAP certifications
