Statement Specialist

Description

Mailroom staff are responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely disbursement of mail from DCI as well as efficiently processing statements and forms using mailing equipment and application software in a multi-bank imaging processing environment.

This position will be located in Hutchinson, KS. The hours are Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Mail Preparation and Distribution

• Sorts, weighs, and posts mail items according to postal requirements.
• Places posted mail in appropriate trays.
• Operates mail equipment including inserting and folding office machines. 
• Applies postage to envelopes using postage meter.
• Assists in going to the post office to pick up mail supplies when needed. 
• Assists in delivering and unloading mail to the post office daily.
• Unloads deliveries of envelopes as needed.
• Stocks envelopes and other mailing supplies daily.

Statement Processing

• Prepares, folds, and stuffs bank statements using folding, insertion, office machines as needed.

General Backroom Services Objectives

• Maintains standards and schedules established by DCI’s Backroom Services department.
• Informs supervisor of problems and assists in resolution.
• Assists in maintaining continuous quality control. 

Other

• Provides back up to other specified Backroom Services duties and functions performed by other employees.
• Ensures that backroom processing work areas, personal work area, and other shared departmental work areas maintained in a neat and organized manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

• Strong visual error detection skills.
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Neat, legible handwriting.
• Attention to detail.
• Good organization skills.
• Regular and reliable attendance required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. – 40 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to work standing on feet for entire shift.
• Dexterity and strength in both hands, arms and shoulders 
• Good vision.
