Business Analyst (Information Services)

The Business Analyst researches and documents business processes and the tools that implement them. This role supports Information Services teams in their mission to deploy technology and data that empowers employees to produce their best results. Data Foundry expects Business Analysts to communicate with stakeholders, users, and Information Services staff – both verbally and in written form – and to perform ongoing review of data conformance to user and stakeholder expectations.

Duties:

• Communicate an accurate description of existing business processes, workflows, data sharing, and technical integrations for engineers and administrators, archived in a written format
• Research and produce written analysis of tools for implementing business process and workflow management – including ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) and DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) – suitable for Information Services teams to evaluate and select tools
• Interview workers and team leads about business processes and requirements
• Write concise, well-organized documentation
• Identify technology vendors and collect information from them necessary for evaluation
• Understand business stakeholder goals and work with Information Services teams to develop solutions that realize those goals

Responsibilities: 

• Document features and trade-offs for technology solutions
• Document data and workflow specifications for Information Services staff to implement
• Review data and identify invalid data
• Implement business processes through tool configuration
• Coordinate dependencies and timelines for technology projects
• Communicate documentation and implementation status with business stakeholders

Qualifications:

Experience

• 2-5 years experience with at least one of the following:
  • Business analyst role
  • Software development specification
  • Technical documentation
  • Systems analysis
  • Business process analysis
• Experience using Salesforce, Salesforce CPQ, NetSuite, SharePoint or comparable tools
• Project coordination or management experience desired, but not required

 Skills

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
• Process modeling skills
• Cross-company relationship building

 Education/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree desired, but not required
• IIBA, ECBA, CCBA, or PMP considered a plus
