Packaging Engineer

Reports to: Global Sourcing Manager - Supply Chain

Job Scope:
The Packaging Engineer leads the development, planning and execution of product packaging concepts and designing solutions for new products as well as evaluating existing packaging designs. The packaging engineer works with various internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams as well as suppliers to bring packaging solutions from ideations to implementation. They work collaboratively with various groups within the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design packaging solutions to support new products that meets the needs of Engineering, Quality, and the customer
  • Develop and implement packaging procedures, testing and standards
  • Work with global stakeholders to evaluate current packaging solutions and identify improvement opportunities
  • Work with global packaging supply base, in coordination with Sourcing, to address issues and implement changes
  • Assists in evaluating packaging suppliers
  • technical lead for packaging suppliers

Qualifications/skills include:

  • Proven history of packaging design and implementation
  • Manage various tasks and assignments in order to meet the needs of multiple projects
  • Ability to evaluate complex problems, consider needs of various stakeholders, and propose solutions
  • Packaging Engineering degree or 2-4 years prior experience in packaging design in a manufacturing and R&D environment
  • Ability to develop processes and procedures and implement them through training various groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in various computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Project management and presentation skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
