Datadog is looking for a Manager of Staff to join our senior tech recruiting leadership team, directly supporting the Senior Director of Technical Recruiting

This is a role that combines leadership, recruiting expertise, project and program management responsibilities into one role. This is an opportunity for a proven cross-functional recruiting leader to act as a trusted advisor, individual contributor, and key member of the leadership team. This individual will be instrumental in fixing and solving a bevy of problems and opportunities across our organization.

In this role you will own orchestrating the rhythm of our business, playing a critical role in bringing senior leaders together across various functions to help accelerate operational, programmatic, and numerical progress and ensure cross team alignment. You will partner with the Head of Technical Recruiting and other team leaders to influence our culture, processes, future investments and strategic initiatives, and step in to help both recruit and build out recruiting in mission critical areas.

A successful Manager of Staff will be organized, strong in project management, able to shift seamlessly between counsel to the head of tech recruiting, driving broader recruiting initiatives, and smaller daily tactical tasks with tact and excellent communication skills. This person should be an empathetic team-player and eager to be a part of a quickly scaling and iterative recruiting function.

What You'll Do:

  • Work across tech and business recruiting teams to prepare and drive updates, coordinate pre-work and research for tech recruiting wide initiatives and OKRs
  • Ensure progress on top priority work-streams, help build decision-making frameworks, deliverables, etc., including supporting external and internal priorities for the Senior Director
  • Function as a strategic partner to the Head of Tech Recruiting and broader recruiting leadership team to maximize business outcomes; work autonomously and drive the strategic agenda of scaling engineering and product hiring over the next two years
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership, finance, recruiting operations and recruiting leadership to align on headcount and budget needs
  • Build documents, data narratives, and presentations as needed
  • Drive cross-functional, organization-wide recruiting projects or initiatives, bringing together multiple stakeholders to help drive decisions and ensure alignment
  • Oversee tech recruiting communications cadence and recruiting leadership processes, including but not limited to tech recruiting communications cadence (i.e. Q&A's, Roundtables, All-Hands, Announcements), and performance calibrations, OKR stand ups and productivity reviews.
  • Support ongoing top level technical recruiting operations and partner with Director of Recruiting Ops & Programs, the Manager of Staff to the head of biz recruiting, the PBP team, CPO, and Chief of Staff to the CTO to help align on relevant deliverables
  • Design and maintain processes and systems to coordinate and track the work being done across the tech recruiting team
  • Partner cross-functionally within the tech recruiting leadership team, building trust, driving accountability, and supporting growth, coaching, and development of the leadership bench
  • Due to the global nature of the role, 10-15% travel may be required

Who You Are:

  • 10 years previous recruiting experience
  • 2 year experience leading and managing teams
  • 4 years experience with project management, strategy, management consulting, research, operations, or related field
  • Experience working directly with management as well as people at all levels of an organization; strong preference for previous HRBP experience
  • Experience managing multiple tasks under timelines and shifting priorities
