What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Trainer position at DataLink?
Summary
The Corporate Trainer is responsible for creating (content-design), facilitating and measuring training sessions across the company. The Corporate Trainer will be responsible for ensuring proper training and on-boarding of all employees, as well as designing and facilitating on-going organizational development programs. He/she will work directly with the department-level subject matter experts to develop and deliver engaging L&D content that aligns with business needs.
Essential Functions
- Conduct a Training Needs Analysis and develop role-specific new hire training for specific departments, including but not limited to Software Development, Data Engineering, Client Services, Product Development, Provider Engagement and Sales & Marketing
- Ensure all training materials, online and physical, are up to date and reflect the latest policy and technology changes
- Lead and facilitate training classes, using relevant training methods and techniques
- Support the building of training content, including facilitator's guides, learning aides, etc. that deliver replicable, consistent and effective messaging of the material through appropriate channels
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and materials and provide recommendations to improve quality and execution
- Manage user engagement and course completion within the LMS
- Remain current on new training and development programs, offerings and competitive practices, and recommends enhancements to DataLink's programs as appropriate
- Contribute to the development of DataLink’s Learning & Development strategy
- Work with subject matter experts and identifying target audience’s training needs
- Applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, games, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and / or equivalent experience
- 3 years’ experience designing and facilitating training programs within an IT environment, Software development or SaaS a preferred
- 2 years designing and developing soft-skills and leadership development programs
- Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology.
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Strong communication skills; attention to detail; ability to multi-task; tech savvy
- A self- starter who enjoys building processes and structure to drive growth
- Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System.
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard.
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
