Job Responsibilities:
Provides guidance to principals, human resources staffing team, and others regarding school staffing allocations and related school staffing issues. Collaborates with principals and office administrators to identify and resolve position management issues.
Provides support in the development and implementation of the annual school staffing allocations process. Reviews, analyzes, and revises allocation spreadsheets.
Develops and maintains various spreadsheets to track position management related data such as vacancies, budgeted positions, and funding sources.
Reconciles organization worksheets to ensure position allocations are aligned with staffing.
Processes position changes in the human resources information system (HRIS) including budgetary adjustments. Creates, assigns, and updates position numbers.
Enters, maintains, tracks, and verifies data in the HRIS. Processes personnel transactions such as promotions and transfers in accordance with established policies and master agreements.
Reviews and adjusts account string codes to ensure the accuracy of position funding sources. Investigates and resolves funding discrepancies.
Assists in the development and modification of the HRIS. Tests and analyzes proposed system changes. Provides advice and guidance to departmental management and co-workers regarding HRIS issues.
Researches, gathers, and compiles data used to generate position management related reports. Receives and responds to requests and questions regarding position management related polices, processes, and practices.
Provides clerical and technical support to the Classification Specialist. Distributes job descriptions and class specifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources administration. Knowledge of human resources information systems. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Knowledge of automated office systems. Knowledge of personal computers and office software applications.
Skill in performing secretarial, clerical, and technical work in support of a human resources or fiscal control function. Skill in the operation of automated office systems and software.
Ability to understand human resources rules and regulations and to communicate them effectively to others. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, school-based employees, office managers, the public, and others. Ability to handle confidential material with discretion.
Education, Training and Experience:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent. Five years of secretarial, clerical, or professional experience, two years of which were directly related to human resources administration, accounting, or fiscal control work are required.
Experience related to human resources and/or fiscal administration is preferred.
(Additional education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.39 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
