- Must be able to teach multiple math classes and an Advisory section.
- Must communicate and work cooperatively with students, staff, and parents to maintain a positive climate in the school.
- Must be skilled at teaching in a team atmosphere, including work on collaborative teacher teams.
- Must be adept at building relationships and maintaining high academic and behavioral standards for all students.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches her/his full potential.
- Must be willing to communicate with all stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Must be willing to make accommodations and to differentiate instruction based on students’ needs.
- Must implement building-wide PBIS practices in support of building and district goals.
- Must be willing to support and implement multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for both academics and behavior.
- Must be willing to integrate new technology-based strategies into the classroom.
- Must attend and actively participate in all building and district professional development.
- Good attendance and punctuality are necessary to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
- Other duties as assigned by administration.
- Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture.
- Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather.
- Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
- Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.
- Noise level is quiet to loud.
- Work may be indoors and/or outdoors.
- Work may be in non-air-conditioned rooms.
- Substance-free environment.
- Fast-paced atmosphere with constant contact with students, staff, or the public.
- Direct responsibility for the safety, well-being, and work output of student.
- Strong Classroom Management.
- Ability to organize work time.
- Excellent attendance history and work record.
- Willingness to learn, operate and promote technology.
- Experience with 4-block schedule and related strategies is desired.
- Willingness to accept supervisory duties that are conducive to a positive building environment.
- Understanding of the need for confidentiality with respect to student and parental rights and for conversations and hard copy information.
