SUMMARY
Handling and supervision of liability claims. Responsible for the investigation of coverage, liability and damages, negotiating with claimants, contractors, and attorneys, through the life of the claim, maintain a pending and closing ratio of 100%, be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of reserves and payments, presenting status reports and communicate with their manager as well as internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following :
- Negotiate and settle liability and property claims
- Prepare written status reports for clients
- Ability to interpret routine policy contracts and coverage.
- Ability to plan, organize and establish priorities to maintain various responsibilities under critical deadlines.
- Attend mediations and settlement conferences as necessary
- Direct and monitor defense counsel to settle litigated claims
- Provide monetary authority and strategy to counsel to ensure client’s money and claims are protected
- Knowledge of current case law, statutory law, DOI regulations, etc. that apply to claims practices and issues within the territory of operation
- The ability to determine, evaluate, investigate and resolve claims
- Demonstrate sound analytical skills
- Other duties as assigned
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
Multiple state adjuster licenses preferred.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
