Job Overview
Davies Claims North America is looking for Property and Casualty Adjuster Trainee to join our growing team! Reporting to the Property and Casualty Supervisor, you will provide support to teammates within the Liability TPA office while developing skills and knowledge to become a licensed P&C Adjuster.
To be successful in this role, you need to be an excellent team player with interpersonal skills and demonstrate superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
You must have at least 1 year of customer service or related work experience and possess the willingness to obtain an Adjuster License.
Additionally, you will need to display an exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
This role is a full-time, onsite position based out of Lakewood Ranch, FL. You must reside locally to this area to be considered for the position;
there are not remote opportunities with this role.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide support to Claims Adjusters, Claims Supervisors, and Claims Managers
- Set initial reserves and plan of action according to instructions
- Open, close, and re-open files as deemed necessary
- Prepare and handle office mail, including courier packages
- Take initial loss reports by phone, email, or fax
- Assist Claims Adjusters with processing of claims
- Maintain Performance Measure requirements
- Maintain Workflow requirements
- Index Bodily Injury claims in ISO
- Request police reports as necessary
- Prepare, copy, and mail defense referrals
- Gather information for MSA referrals as requested
- Enter claims in One Entry
- Pay expense bills as instructed by adjusters or supervisors
- Convey a positive attitude and teamwork for optimum provision of services to clients

- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications
Required
- 1 year of experience in customer service, hospitality, insurance related, or similar roles
- Obtain FL All Lines Adjuster License within 30 days of employment (company paid)
- Maintain CEU credits for Adjuster License once obtained
- Possess exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
- College Degree or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience in the insurance and / or claims adjusting industry
- Knowledge of principles of liability, medical terminology, and legal terminology

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands
This is an onsite, full time, hourly, non-exempt position that predominantly operates from a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary.
