The Sr. Director, Privacy Operations will manage the Privacy Operations function within the DaVita Privacy Office, and help implement and ensure privacy compliance related to the activities and responsibilities of DaVita.
Privacy Operations is responsible for:
Privacy policy drafting, review, maintenance and advisory function Training, Communication, & Awareness program
Owner of privacy related training courses (plus creation of new courses as applicable)
Owner of privacy communication/awareness campaigns
Creation & maintenance of all privacy procedures, job aids, and other internal privacy documentation/forms Internal support of corporate functions and clinical operations for privacy policy guidance
Privacy general inbox monitoring
Privacy notice program – including website privacy notices Privacy governance committees Data use review and approval program owner (DURB) Privacy risk assessments and audit readiness New privacy regulation implementation (with guidance from Privacy Legal Team) Privacy Champion Program owner Metrics & reporting Program and process improvement
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports to the Chief Privacy Officer
- Manages Privacy Operations Team
- Ensures work is being performed with service excellence and continuous improvement at the forefront
- Leads Privacy Operations projects
- Serves as a thought and innovation partner to SBIs and corporate functions as they implement new initiatives
- Works closely with Privacy & Cybersecurity Legal to receive or coordinate legal guidance needed to operationalize important initiatives and requirements, and with Privacy Engineering to interpret and implement, and communicate privacy engineering requirements (e.g., Privacy by Design) through Privacy Team policies, procedures, and training.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business, technology or healthcare field
- Law degree preferred, but not required
- At least 6 years of experience working with privacy teams is required
- Experience in health care is required
- Experience in cybersecurity or a security certification is desired
- Team management experience and experience collaborating with business management for successful project outcomes is required
- Compliance, audit or assessment experience is desired
- Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated attention to detail required
- Solid technology skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Critical thinking and decision making skills, with the ability to quickly determine issues that need escalation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) and the ability to drive execution in a team environment
- Must be self-motivated, team player with proven ability to identify issues and manage priorities in a fast paced environment while striving for practical business solutions
- Hands on, efficient and proven ability to “Get Stuff Done” with a bias for action and a strong sense of ownership

Salary/ Wage Range
$121,200.00 - $177,900.00 / yearCompensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
