Shift Schedule :
- Monday - Friday : 8 : 00am 4 : 30pm (until finished)
- Overtime and Weekends required based on business needs.
Job Purpose and Overview
As a Warehouse Lead at Dawn, you are responsible for providing training and support to the Warehouse Associates. Ensures that team members are actively engaged in work assignments and that assignments are distributed for maximum efficiency.
What Does It Take to be a Warehouse Lead at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- One year of experience in warehouse or distribution environment (i.e. knowledge of warehouse operations; JBA and WMS systems helpful).
- Requires strong oral, written, and communication skills.
- Must be able to handle many diversified tasks at one time and correctly prioritize conflicting, time-sensitive tasks.
- Requires the ability to safely operate a forklift and other heavy warehouse equipment.
- preferred
- Previous food safety experience preferred.
What will you do as a Warehouse Lead at Dawn Foods?
- Assist with division of tasks and assignments to ensure an efficient warehouse operation.
- Coordinates and provides training to Warehouse Team Members.
- Participates in safety initiatives and directs team member work in a safe manner.
- Maintain records on the destination, weight, and charges on all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- May create bills of lading, shipment reports, and process all incoming and outgoing shipment records.
- Data entry, generation of import files, labelling, filing, assistance with tracking / expediting freight, freight / broker invoice auditing.
- Ensures accuracy of rate charges by verifying classification of materials with rate schedule.
- May coordinate with carriers to schedule deliveries of shipments, and process driving assignments for pick-up / delivery.
- Monitors pending shipments related to the shipping schedules of purchases issued and updating the traffic record system.
- Confirms information; provides product information; resolves problems; determines method of shipment and ships items, maintains records.
- Information collection may be hand entered into a computer.
- Enters incoming and outgoing freight data, such as destination, weight, route-initiating department, and charges into record system.
- May maintain records of overcharges and for damages to goods in transit and files damage claims with carriers.
- Ability to prioritize daily workload.
- Investigate and provide reports and corrective actions on shipping service errors and complaints
- Safely operates a forklift and other warehouse equipment in order to accomplish the goals of the position.
- Assists the quality team as needed to troubleshoot and fix potential food safety / product safety issues.
- Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein
