JOB TITLE: Lead Grounds Laborer
BUSINESS SERVICE LINE: Construction: Operations & Maintenance
SUMMARY:
The Lead Grounds Laborer is responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds, including snow removal, at the Denver Federal Center Campus in Lakewood, Colorado.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform grounds-keeping and building maintenance duties.
- Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower; trim and edge around walks, flower beds and walls.
- Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs and bushes.
- Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks and others.
- Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
- Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to prevent slipping.
- Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains and other duties.
- Sweep walkways of debris.
- Cut down tree limbs as needed.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds- keeping.
- Rake, mulch and prune the grounds as needed.
- Install rock, cement, lighting, water and lawn furniture.
- Conduct flag duties.
- Perform other related duties pertaining to the Landscaping, Grounds Maintenance, and other Related Services Performance Work Statement as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise grounds laborer crews for quality performance
- Inform management of personnel issues relating to grounds laborer crew
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess grounds laborer experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be able obtain and maintain a clearance for GSA facility access
