The Arc of Chemung Schuyler is seeking an ambitious Events Coordinator to ensure planning and timely coordination of events from conception through completion for The Arc of Chemung Schuyler.This is a Part Time Role, working 20 hours per week. You must have the flexibility to adjust your schedule to work evenings and/or weekends as needed to accomodate special events.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Events Coordinator works closely with the Public Relations Director to coordinate The Arc of Chemung Schuyler’s special events, community outreach and public relations activities along with the coordination of event related volunteers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or other related fields and two years’ experience in event management/coordination.
Strong community contacts are highly desirable.
Work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Valid/Clean driver’s license required.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent time management skills
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Ability to work as a team and independently.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Experience with Internet/social media, Windows and Microsoft Office Suite required.
Must be detail oriented.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with full cycle event planning for various agency events such as membership campaign and picnic, 5k, gold tournament, staff events, family events and Advocacy related events etc.
Works closely with the Public Relations Assistant for the development of event related materials including flyers, posters, website and social media updates and other materials as needed.
Networking at various community events to increase awareness of the Arc and its programs. Including tabling and public presentations.
Recruiting and screening of potential event volunteers through various community organizations.
Maintains and adheres to The Arc of Chemung Schuyler’s Mission, Vision and Values and code of ethics and confidentiality.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Public Relations Director.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to tolerate stress associated with uiltiple, simultanious demands.
Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull and frequently required to use hand and fingers.
Safely operate a motor vehicle and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to tolerate 50% or more per day of computer interaction.
