The District Communications Group (DCG) is a research and communications firm that provides federal agencies with strategic support for evidence-based decision-making. Our projects take place in over 100 countries around the world. DCG is seeking a senior evaluation associate to join our dynamic research team to support evaluation designs, monitor fieldwork, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and write reports with actionable recommendations. Topics will include public diplomacy, national security, media, education, and cultural exchange. In this role, you will:

  • Support various fast-paced formative and evaluation research efforts, from development through implementation and reporting
  • Support evaluation design, including theoretical frameworks, evaluation plans, recruitment guides, discussion guides, questionnaires, and internal clearance and approval documents
  • Support international and multi-national evaluations, including mixed-methods approaches and utilizing a range of methodologies, including quasi-experimental designs
  • Analyze multiple sources of data on various evaluations to develop recommendations for improvements to existing programming
  • Coordinate with fieldwork subcontractors and clients, manage evaluations through their life cycle from start-up and design phases through data collection and analysis
  • Additionally, if deemed safe and compliant with public health best practices, this role may offer opportunities to travel.

Location: At DCG, many of our team members, including this role, work remotely. With over 100 employees based in 20 states (and counting!), DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours.

Position Requirements:

Skills and interests

  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least four (4) years of relevant professional experience, specifically in program evaluation, or two (2) years of relevant professional experience and a master’s degree
  • An aptitude for analytical thinking, synthesizing large amounts of data into insightful analysis and recommendations
  • Experience with primary data collection methods, including qualitative, quantitative, and evaluation
  • Hands-on practical experience with statistical analysis tools such as SPPS or R
  • Excellent and concise writing, analysis, and presentation skills
  • Interest and experience in international affairs and public diplomacy
  • Prior experience in overseeing or carrying out fieldwork, prior moderation, and interviewing a plus
  • English fluency required knowledge and fluency of additional languages is a plus
