Position Summary:
The Recruiting Manager will oversee and conduct full cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles across our companies four state footprint ensuring a smooth and positive candidate experience. Day to day activities include tracking applicant flow and candidate pipeline activity, sourcing, screening, and scheduling candidates, soliciting feedback, and extending offers. The top candidate will possess strong business partnership, organizational and communication skills, knowledge of recruiting, and a proven successful track record in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources in South Portland, Maine.
Essential Functions:
- Manages the Recruiting Team of two ensuring that recruitment and selection practices are behavioral based and aligned with DRC core competencies and employment brand.
- Oversees and manages recruitment of multiple openings, assists managers through the hiring process and maintains a pipeline approach to recruiting that addresses long-term, future organizational needs by leveraging employee and candidate referrals, social media, networking events, job fairs, targeted outreach, professional associations, job fairs, virtual and in person events, high school and college partnerships
- Ensures the DRC brand is reflected in our hiring processes. Candidates are treated like customers with clear and considerate communication throughout the entire process.
- Ensures maximum utilization of applicant tracking system (UKG Recruiting and Onboarding), by updating templates, adding new sourcing methods, managing integration/upkeep of job board vendors, overseeing addition of new DRC Independent Brand companies, etc.
- Monitors applicant flow and ensures an efficient and prompt response to all candidates. Assures a thorough screening process for potential candidates, and maintains a selection protocol that confirms the most qualified candidate is selected.
- Work with hiring managers to define hiring needs and create/update job descriptions and post, source and screen candidates, schedule interviews, solicit feedback, and extend offers as well as training hiring Managers to effectively utilize UKG by dispositioning candidates through the process to hire and create offer letters; and in UKG Onboarding, launching new hire information and complete I-9’s.
- Leads and manages the seasonal hiring process including forecasting returning employees and anticipated vacancies, securing additional resources to support recruiting efforts, developing recruiting plans to support multiple markets and geographies, monitoring effectiveness of efforts, and managing the recruiting budget.
- In partnership with the Recruitment Team and direction from the Director of Human Resources, work together with Hiring Managers to develop long term relationships with schools, community organizations and counter-seasonal businesses for workforce development partnerships. Oversee tracking and recording of these efforts in the customized Onramp database.
- Represent and promote Dead River as a preferred employer, with viable career paths and a company with interest to create a broad and diverse candidate pool to meet the needs of DRC now and in the future.
- With the Recruitment Team, oversees all methods of sourcing candidates whether market-based or company-wide efforts. Responsible for consistently researching, testing, and implementing new sourcing methods to increase applicant flow to all positions. Partnering internally with Marketing to best promote career opportunities at DRC.
- Work with the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Organizational Development and Learning on special projects.

Experience:
- Minimum 5 years recruitment and workforce development experience is required.
- Leadership experience in a corporate or business environment.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Certification or Licensing:
PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

Decisions Made:
This position makes decisions regarding recruitment strategy and execution of workforce development programs, this position consults on candidate qualifications during the selection process and provides input on training needs.
